    Do something good for your soul - recover from the stress of everyday life and come cross-country skiing in Carinthia.

    You can take to your skis on your own through snow-covered forests glittering in the sun, or put your skill to the test at events and cross-country races. The trails are cleverly distributed between all valley and mountain locations throughout the province, offering beginners and advanced practitioners ideal conditions for every level of endurance and difficulty. Did you know that cross-country skiing uses almost 85% of the body’s muscles?

    Cross-country skiing in the national park region
    Wonderful cross-country skiing can be enjoyed in the national park region, with guaranteed snow. Friends of the Nordic skiing will find a superbly maintained network of trails with a total length of more than 200 km.

    Cross-country fun in Carinthia’s Naturarena
    The region encompassing Nassfeld-Hermagor, Gailtal, Gitschtal, Lesachtal and Weissensee has a snow-assured ski area with over 300 km of trails and 42 double-tracked trails - ideally marked and prepared. Cross-country schools also offer courses in the classic cross-country and skating styles.

    Cross-country skiing in Bad Kleinkirchheim/Carinthia’s Nockbergen
    The holiday resort of Bad Kleinkirchheim has a total of three sporty cross-country trails with a route network totalling more than 50 kilometres in length.
    Cross-country skiing on the Turracher Höhe
    The region scores with its altitude (1,763 m to 2,205 m), the excellent
    guaranteed snow from the end of November to the beginning of May, and four wonderful cross-country trails at over 1,700 m above sea level.

    Trails on the Katschberg-Rennweg
    With around 25 kilometres of manicured and superbly tracked trails, the Katschberg-Rennweg region offers cross-country skiers fantastic conditions.

    Snowy forests invite skiers to go on long walks through silent nature; endless trails wind through the immaculate whiteness, as the bells of the horse-drawn sleighs ring in the distance.

    The best cross-country skiing opportunities all around Millstätter See
    Snowy landscapes and the clear air accompany you on the numerous trails with a total length of about 70 km, right around Millstätter See.

    Cross-country skiing in the Villach region
    The Villach region offers numerous superbly maintained trails - for beginners as well as for advanced cross-country skiers. Things get truly wonderful on the Dobratsch: On snow-assured trails at between 1,400 m and 1,800 m above sea level, the bonus is a gigantic panoramic view. A good view and excellent snow are also offered on the Kanzelbahn Panoramic Trail on the Gerlitzen, the Bleiberger Hochtal, Warmbad Villach and the Baumgartnerhöhe.

    Pirkdorfersee cross-country centre:
    Natural and artificial cross-country trail with a total length of approx. 10 km. Can be enjoyed in the classic and skating styles.

    Cross-country skiing in the Carnica Region Rosental
    10 km of tracked trails await you in the Bodental valley! In Zell, too, you can walk on your skis through snow-covered forests glittering in the sun or put your skill to the test in public events and cross-country races.
    In St. Jakob/Rosental (cross-country service centre) there is also a 3.5 km-long, lit trail that is provided with artificial snow from the end of November and can be classically skied or skated.
