At the eastern end of the Gurktal sprawls the municipal area of Straßburg. The name is derived from the eponymous castle, which dates to the 12th century and stands proudly over the valley.
The expensively restored building, which was the seat of the bishop for centuries, is naturally an absolute must for all visitors to the Gurktal, not least because of the numerous exhibitions and the folklore museum.
Also worth a visit are Schloss Pöckstein and numerous sacred buildings in the town. To supplement the cultural offering, Straßburg also offers an open-air pool, tennis courts and a wonderful fishing area.
