Guttaring, in the sunny south of Austria, with its attractive landscape and hospitable people, wants to make your holiday here a pleasant one.
Guttaring owes its existence to mining, because long ago there used to be a rest stop here for the iron transporters. The place has a protected, south-facing location, whose mild climate even used to permit wine growing.
With the Urtler Hochofen, Guttaring has the oldest surviving blast furnace in Europe. The township is also known for the pilgrimage churches of Maria Waitschach and Maria Hilf.
