Due to the intensive development of recent years, the range on offer for climbers in the Maltatal has greatly increased. Enthusiasts for granite and gneiss climbing certainly get their money’s worth.
Climbing along Carinthia's highest waterfall in the Malta valley
In the Maltatal there are 4 rock climbing practice areas and a few individual rock faces with climbing routes from grade five to grade ten. The largest and most popular practice area is the "Klettergarten Kreuzwand" with over 50 routes up to 60 metres high, which without exceptioin have been secured with pitons. (Rock = Granite, mignatite, gneiss)
